explicitな自尊心，implicitな自尊心をそれぞれ一方のみを変化させることができるか，
実験的研究。

explicitな自尊心は，directed thinking taskによって，implicitな自尊心を変化させることなく，
（SD法および状態自尊心が変化し；実験2）
implicitな自尊心は，evaluative conditioningによって，explicitな自尊心を変化させることなく，
（IATによる自尊心が変化した；実験1）
狙った方向に変化させることができた。

加えて，evaluative conditioningのあとに，"feeling"に注目させると（vs. knowledge），
implicitな変化に加えてexplicitにも変化が見られた（実験3）。
